Swallows FC head coach Dylan Kerr bemoaned his side's small errors and missed chances after their valiant display in a 4-2 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Kerr's side leaked three goals in the first half but were by far the better team in the second half and had a flurry of opportunities shortly after the break which they failed to take and which could have made for a very different outcome.
"We spoke about it before the game," The Birds boss told SuperSport TV.
"You've got to respect Mamelodi Sundowns for who they are and what they've achieved. But once you step onto that green field and over that line then when you're not prepared you're going to get caught.
"The three goals were all through our right-back. And then going into the second half I had to change it and it worked. I think Victor shouted to me we could have been 4-3 up. We had four good chances and didn't hit the target once. Gamildien''s got us back in to the game in the dying minutes and we make another defensive mistake. Against Sundowns and teams of that quality you can't do that.
"We created four good chances in the first ten minutes of the second half. Straight away from the kick-off, KG just needs to put the ball in the net. You've only got the goalkeeper to beat and now we make the trip to Maritzburg for the rearranged game."
