Serbian defender Dusan Stevic will arrive on Saturday to undergo his medicals at Maritzburg United and complete the signing of his 18-month contract.
KickOff.com revealed last week that Maritzburg had agreed a deal in principle to bring in Stevic.
With the visa that enables him to get into South Africa now in hand, the 25-year-old is set to arrive in Durban from Serbia on Saturday.
Maritzburg have already agreed on a deal that will run until June next year on what will be a moderate package with an option of a further extension depending on how he performs through that period.
Stevic's availability will then be subject to the issuing of his work permit.
The Serbian was most recently with FK Napredak Krusevac but terminated his contract at the end of the year and has previously played in North Macedonia and Greece.
Stevic is the second European to be signed since Ernst Middendorp returned to the club for his fourth spell.
German goalkeeper Marcel Engelhardt has already made his debut and is now sey to become the first-choice for the rest of the season as Maritzburg aim to stay up.
