With just seven games remaining in the league campaign, it may seem as though the title race could be decided in a photo finish as several teams remaining in the running.
Chiefs currently trail leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by eight points and still have a mathematical chance at challenging, although many would admit their chances are slim.
Zuma, who has since handed Amakhosi back-to-back victories with two crucial goals in his last two appearances, believes if they do manage to gain ground on the front-runners but ultimately fall short by a few points, their start to the season would certainly be regretted.
“We started the season slow but to see how wide open the log is now, we might have some regrets over the games we drew and lost [in the beginning],” said Zuma.
“If we had won those games, we might have still had a good chance to win the league. But this is football – nobody knows, I think anything is still possible and we still have a chance [to compete].”
The Glamour Boys will tonight square off with fifth-placed SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, where a victory could see them cut the gap to just five points while Sundowns are away on CAF Champions League duty.
