Sekhukhune United moved up to third on the DStv Premiership table with 1-0 win over Royal AM on Saturday evening.
Babina Noko made three changes to the side that edged Swallows, as Pogiso Mahlangu, Seth Parusnath and Prince Nxumalo were recalled while Royal brought back Lantshene Phalane and Tshidiso Monamodi.
Sekhukhune settled the quicker of the two sides and the first chance fell to Mahlangu inside the box midway through the first stanza but he skied his shot over the bar.
The game was getting physical after the half-hour mark, with John Maduka's charges threatening on set-pieces but the likes of Victor Letsoalo were not taking their chances.
Nkanyiso Madonsela had a chance to break the deadlock for MacDonald Makhubedu's troops just before the half-time break but his shot across goal missed over the bar and the first stanza ended without goals.
Sekhukhune had a quick start in the second stanza as Edwin Gyimah finally broke the deadlock five minutes from the half-time break.
The hosts were already going on a defensive mode just after the hour-mark after bringing on Willard Katsande in place of Nxumalo in a tactical move, as they staying compact at the back.
Thwihli Thwahla were applying a lot of pressure in the closing stages but they could get behind Sekhukhune's deep block and Babina Noko held on to go up to third on the log and ended Royal's eight-match unbeaten run
