With the Buccaneers still on the ascendancy late in the half, Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele made a substitution when Evidence Makgopa entered for the injured winger Train Mokhabi.

Bakgaga had a chance to go ahead in the final seconds to halftime through a glancing header by Ananias Gebhardt following a free-kick, but he fired wide of the mark.
