AmaZulu and Marumo Gallants FC settled for a goalless draw in their rescheduled DStv Premiership clash on Thursday afternoon.
New additions from Usuthu following their loss to Sekhukhune United saw Hendrick Ekstein and Andre De Jong start, whilst Gallants featured Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo amongst others.
With the match rescheduled following yesterday’s abandonment on the back of the kit clashes, stern goalkeeping was needed from Veli Mothwa early on to parry Thabo Mnyamane’s free-kick.
More in the way of threats from Gallants followed in the midway stage with Mothwa forced to palm a cross-cum shot from the right-side by Sede Dion onto the woodwork.
AmaZulu looked to hold tight whilst halftime loomed large, but received no joy in the way of a breakthrough therefore the first spell in Umlazi finished goalless.

The host should have been ahead seconds in the second half from a one-on-one by Siyethemba Sithebe following a ball over the top, but the midfielder missed target.
Gallants made the first change following the 62nd minute with Lerato Lamola making his first appearance of the season and Celimpilo Ngema the other introduction.
These fresh faces heralded a lively spark minutes thereafter more so with Ngema bringing Mothwa to a close-range save from a snap shot in the six-yard area.
A better spell inside the closing minutes came from Usuthu, as a glancing header from Lehlohonolo Majoro following Siphesihle Maduna’s supply worked Washington Arubi into action.
Gallants still enjoyed the lion's share of chances six minutes from time with a direct corner-kick from Mnyamane clattering off the woodwork, whilst the match finished goalless.
