Keagan Dolly equalised from the penalty spot with the very last kick of the game to salvage a 1-1 draw for Kaizer Chiefs against AmaZulu on Saturday afternoon.
Njabulo Ngcobo, Austin Dube and Phathutshedzo Nange came into the Chiefs starting line-up, while Tercious Malepe came into the AmaZulu side.
It was a quiet opening to the game as neither side were able to create a decent opportunity until the 22nd minute and it came Chiefs' way when Khama Billiat played Keagan Dolly in the box, who opened his body up and tried to curl one into the corner from close-range but was denied by a stunning one-handed save from Veli Mothwa.
AmaZulu had their first chance soon after. The corner was cleared away before they won it back again through Mbongeni Gumede and Daniel Akpeyi produced a great save to deny Sandile Khumalo.
Chiefs had another good opportunity in the 36th minute when Nange played in Bernard Parker, whose shot was straight at Mothwa, who still had to react quickly to tip it over the bar.
The Usuthu keeper then came to the rescue yet again for Usuthu when he produced another top-class save to keep out Billiat's thunderbolt from long range which was heading towards the top corner.
AmaZulu took the lead two minutes after the interval. Keagan Buchanan headed the ball into the path of Luvuyo Memela, who slotted into the back of the net from close range.
Soon after Memela almost grabbed his second when Bonginkosi Ntuli released him with a clever through ball but he shot straight at the onrushing Akpeyi, who kept it out.
Chiefs were enjoying over 60 percent of the possession in the second half but were still failing to create clear-cut chances.
With five minutes to go Dolly almost produced the spectacular when he cut inside from the right on his left foot and connected well with the strike but it was straight at Mothwa who did well to hold onto what was a powerful curling effort.
In the very last minute of stoppage time Thapelo Xoki was adjudged to have handballed in the box from Lebogang Manyama's delivery and Dolly made no mistake from the spot drilling the ball powerfully into the bottom right-hand corner as Mothwa guessed incorrectly.
