Furman's contract at SuperSport is due to expire at the end of the 2017/18 season, with reports claiming that he has since penned a one-year extension that will see his deal ending in June 2019.
However, speaking during the MTN 8 press conference on Thursday, Furman denied that he had actually put pen to paper, while adding that he is "pretty happy" at Matsatsantsa.
“To be honest it [new contract] is not signed, but it is pretty close [to being done],” Furman said.
“I'm pretty happy at the club. I really enjoyed my football over the past 18 months or so. I think the club is ambitious, and we want to win things.
“You look at the players they have brought in in the last two years, it shows that this is how ambitious we are.
"We are looking to compete at the highest level in the country and also on the continent [CAF club competitions].”
The Bafana Bafana hard man says he hopes they will be able to finalize everything in the comind days so he can start focusing fully on playing football again.
“It's a club I'm incredibly happy to be associated with and incredibly honored to be the captain of,” Furman added.
“Hopefully we sign in the next couple of days and get that all out of the way. I'm happy at SuperSport and not looking to go anywhere else at the moment."
