Kaizer Chiefs' good run of form means other teams will naturally target their position on top of the log, and one of those shouldn't be discounted in the title race.
With Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits busy with CAF competitions, SuperSport United seems to be the team that can keep Amakhosi on their toes.
After their victory over Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday night, captain Dean Furman revealed their intention to catch Chiefs in the title race despite their big lead.
"For SuperSport United I would love to win the league of course," Furman said.
"We are pushing. We feel like we had a decent first half of the season, hopefully we can finish well in our final three games of the year.
"Chiefs are running away with it but we are going to be closer to them and hopefully catch up all the way. We don't want to fall far behind them.
"Winning against Maritzburg United was very vital for us. Three more games and we are hoping to finish [the year] in a good position in the league."
Matsatsantsa's next game is against struggling Stellenbosch at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday (20h15).
