Swallows not panicking following Chiefs health scare


Swallows FC have reacted to the alarming news of a massive Covid-19 outbreak at Kaizer Chiefs after being their most recent opponents.

The Bube Birds has quickly moved to dispel any fears of panic related to potential positive Covid-19 cases at the club.

This comes after Kaizer Chiefs reported a huge 31 positive cases of Covid-19 at the club Friday morning.

Swallows were Chiefs' most recent opponents and the last team to come into contact with them after a DStv Premiership clash on Sunday at Dobsonville Stadium.

This understandably has raised potential concerns of a similar outbreak at the club regarding the health of players and officials.

Swallows boss David Mogashoe confirmed that they are acutely monitoring the health situation in their camp.

"We have seen the reports," Mogashoe tells Kickoff.com.

"At the moment in our camp, we have not had cases of Covid-19.

"But we are monitoring the situation to make sure that all our players and officials are safe".

"At the moment we are not panicking.

Kaizer Chiefs have already written to the PSL to request the postponement of their next five fixtures after the debilitating Covid-19 outbreak.

Amakhosi have already shut down their Naturena training base as a safety measure.
