Chippa pulls the trigger again

Premiership can reveal that Chippa United are set to announce a new coach on Tuesday.

United boss Chippa Mpengesi appointed Duran Francis as caretaker coach last week after the club parted ways with Clinton Larsen.

Mpengesi at the time said: "It feels good when we are promoting our own local talent... I always believe in giving people opportunities... he has my full support. If he does well, he has a chance to continue until the end."

But the former Bay United coach has been relieved of his duties after a draw and a loss in his first two matches and has returned to coaching the club's ABC Motsepe League side.

According to a source close to Chippa United, a new coach is due to arrive in the country today to take over the coaching reins at the Port Elizabeth side.
