Chippa United have opened negotiations with midfielder Thabiso Lebitso with a view to extending his contract.

The former TUT striker's contract with United is set to expire in June this year, meaning is now free to sign a pre-contract with any club.

Lebitso's manager Mandla Mthembu has confirmed the Chilli Boys have approached him with regards to his client's future in Port Elizabeth.

"They have made the contact but at this stage nothing concrete has been discussed," Mthembu tells KickOff.com.

Chippa United recently roped in Dan Malesela to replace Lehlohonolo Seema as head coach after he was fired due to poor results.
