Hunt undeterred following Chiefs rout

Premiership

Chippa United coach Gavin Hunt has revealed how his side have prepared for Sunday's clash against Swallows FC following after suffering a heavy defeat to Kaizer Chiefs last weekend.

The Chilli Boys are currently languishing in 14th position in the DStv Premiership standings after winning just one of their opening four matches of the season and suffered further humiliation last weekend following a 4-0 defeat to the Amakhosi.

Hunt and his team face another difficult challenge on Sunday when they play host to Swallows FC but the former Chiefs boss insists that defeat to his former employers has not affected his preparations ahead of the upcoming encounter,

"We've prepared normally," he told the club's media team. "I came away from the Chiefs game still in a very positive mindset. I thought we created a lot of chances [but] we just made the three or four big errors.

"If you look everything else, we did well. People just look at the scoreline, they don't look into the game itself, but there are things we need to work on but we did create a lot of opportunities."

However, the four-time PSL-winning coach hinted at his annoyance that this weekend's match, which is a home match for the Gqeberha-based Chippa, would be played at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London.

"It won't be easy at all and obviously, it's a home game but it's an away game for us," Hunt added. "They fly for one hour and we travel four hours on the bus, so it's obviously not easy, but it is what it is and we have to get on with it."
