Meyiwa, 19, who sustained spinal damage in the crash and has been left a paraplegic, will be released from hospital into home care next week.
Amakhosi manager Bobby Motaung made the sad announcement at a press conference at Naturena on Thursday.
"Disability is something that is beyond anyone's control. We urge respect and medical, mental, psychological and emotional support for the player in this difficult time," said Motaung.
"It's not a pity situation, but a realistic situation.
"The family as a whole also needs support from everyone in the fraternity.
"Today we had a good celebration day with him. His life is still going on, it's just a career-ending moment for him."
Meyiwa, a junior and senior team international, joined Chiefs in 2014 and was promoted to the first team in 2017/18 under then-coach Steve Komphela.
He marked his Amakhosi debut with a goal against Cape Town City in September 2017 and went onto make 19 appearances last term.
Meyiwa played twice more this campaign.
