Putsche: There's no pressure over a new deal

The 27-year-old, who has become a key figure in City’s midfield since moving to South Africa two seasons ago, is in the final year of his contract with the MTN8 champions.

“I think there is really no pressure regarding a new contract,” Putsche told KickOff.com.

“I have a very good relationship with the club and have already spoken to the owner John Comitis and we know where we stand.

“I think it’s more important to focus on issues like improving our position on the log as I think we are far too good of a team to be in the position that we currently find ourselves in.”

City chairman John Comitis has reassured the club's fans that there are plans afoot to extend the Austrian's stay in the Mother City.

“We’ve have sat down with him and agreed in principle,” Comitis explained.

“There’s a plan for him in November and we are busy working on it.”

Meanwhile, Putsche is disappointed he will miss his side's Telkom Knockout last-16 tie with AmaZulu at King Zwelethini Stadium on October 23 due to suspension.

"It’s a bit of a bummer as we’ve already had an international break of two weeks and now one has to wait longer for game-time,” he said.

“I can’t wait to get back when we play them again in a league match a few days later. As a professional player you want to player every week. You prepare during the week to play your matches and want to play every game for your club.”

Putsche has scored once, a potential contender for goal of the season against SuperSport United in August, and provided an assist in 10 games in all competitions this campaign.
