Cape Town City have announced the signing of Abbubaker Mobara from Orlando Pirates.
The 25-year-old leaves the Buccaneers after a difficult three seasons in Soweto, where he was never really able to establish himself as a regular. The versatile joined Pirates despite news breaking that Ajax had reached a deal for him to join Mamelodi Sundowns.
He chose the Buccaneers instead to work with Muhsin Ertugral, who did not last long in the Pirates hot seat, and in his first season did well enough to even wear the captain’s armband on a few occasions.
