Cape Town City have confirmed a new addition to the club despite the PSL transfer window having earlier this week slammed shut.
City have snapped up former junior international Fagrie Lakay on a free transfer after having his contract with Bidvest Wits terminated jafter ust two months.
Lakay was joined by Robyn Johannes and former Ajax Cape Town teammate Prince Nxumalo, who also failed to kick a ball in a competitive fixture for The Clever Boys.
This opened the door for the 22-year-old Cape Town-born attacker to join the club of his choice, with The Citizens having now confirmed his arrival.
The former Amajita and Amajimbos star has been sent from pillar to post on various loan spells after being snapped up by SuperSport United in 2015, when he showed plenty of promise.
However, Lakay has fallen somewhat short of expectations, having managed just 26 Absa Premiership starts over the past four seasons at Wits, SuperSport and Ajax, leading to him being omitted from the recent national under-23 squads.
