Cape Town City unveil new coach

Cape Town City have confirmed the appointment of Matthew Haywood as their new U-21 DStv Diski head coach.

The UEFA A License holding coach joins an exciting technical staff and brings the experience of working in the Academy systems of Hellenic and Stellenbosch FC.

During his time with Stellies, he developed seven players for junior national team selection while he also spent time with Fulham and Tottenham in the United Kingdom in various other capacities.

"Cape Town City would like to formally welcome Matt Haywood who becomes the new head coach of the club's U21 Diski team," the club statement read on social media.

"Haywood brings a wealth of youth development experience from both SA and Europe, as we aim to nurture the next generation of elite local talents."
