Businessman reveals plans to revive Bloem Celtic


Bloemfontein Celtic supporters held a fan forum in Mangaung on Saturday to discuss plans to revive the club to see it back in the top-flight of South African football.

At the meeting, businessman Lebogang Mokoena made a bold announcement that plans were in place to purchase a top-flight status.

The well-attended fan forum comes after Siwelele were sold to Kwazulu-Natal businesswoman, Shaun Mkhize bringing an abrupt end to the club's 52-year history.

Bloemfontein Celtic national supporters chairperson Mabena Pule confirmed the meeting in Bloemfontein, which was attended by many fans.

"The meeting went well. We are happy with the outcome of the meeting," Pule tells

"This was also an opportunity to announce that businessman Lebohang Mokoena was preparing to buy a PSL club. He is based in Pietermaritzburg but is born and bred in Bloemfontein

"We will give an update next week Wednesday," Pule added.

DStv Premiership side Maritzburg United have since denied speculation that the club had been sold with owner Farook Kadobia reiterating there were no plans to sell in future.
