Swallows FC coach Brandon Truter has broken his silence on the prospect of signing former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder George Lebese.
Lebese joined Swallows in training last week, with the hopes of winning a contract with the Soweto side as he looks to re-establish himself in the Premier Soccer League.
The 32-year-old star is currently a free agent since terminating his contract with US side Colorado Springs Switchbacks earlier this year.
Having kept a close eye on the Mamelodi-born winger over the last week, Truter believes the quality remains obvious but the matter of fitness is one that needs to be monitored closely.
"He has not played football for a long time but you can see the quality is there. We cannot say much for now,"
"We want to give chance to work on his fitness and try to bring him into good shape.
He is a quality player, you can't doubt it. He has shown his quality already at training.
"As I said before, let him get into fitness first and we will see what will happen after. The quality is there."
Swallows recently completed the signing of midfielder Khethukuthula Ndlovu from Uthongathi FC, while former Orlando Pirates midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo has also been registered ahead of the 2021/22 season.
