Truter relaxed about facing Chiefs

Premiership

Swallows FC head coach Brandon Truter has played down the importance of tonight's highly anticipated match against Kaizer Chiefs.

The Dude Birds will face their biggest test in their debut DStv Premiership season so far when they host an Amakhosi side that will he looking for their second league win in five matches.

The match will be played at Dobsonville Stadium at 19h30.

"No I'm very calm, it's just another football match for me," Truter tells KickOff.com ahead of a major opportunity for the promotion-winning coach to prove his top-flight credentials.

"The only match that matters for me is the one before us, we are not worried about anything else.

"Look ja, we respect Chiefs for who they are but for the match, three points are at stake. And it's always our aim whether we play Chiefs, Pirates, Sundowns three points will always be our aim. The worst-case scenario is not to lose."

Swallows will be without goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni, who picked up another injury on Sunday, while top forward Kagiso Malinga is also ruled out.

Swallows have a number of new players who could hurt Chiefs if given a chance

Truter refuses to be fooled by Amakhosi's current situation.

"Ja but look current situation they fought at least over the weekend," he says." So they are slowly getting their form back. So ja, let's hope they don't get their form back today. They scored two goals [against Arrows], they were leading at one stage so ja they are getting back to where they should be.

"Look like I said, they also played on Saturday, they will also feel it a bit. I'm sure he [Gavin Hunt] is still teaching the team the way he wants them to play. I'm sure Castro and Billiat will be the there.

"Ja, it was a tough game against Galaxy so our energy and intensity is important. Playing two games in 48 hours, it's going to be tough to keep our intensity up. So ja we'll go out there and give our best you know, 100 percent.

"As a technical team we have to manage the game for the players. It has been raining, the Dobsonville pitch is a nightmare to play on when it's heavy. So ja, I'm sure it's going to be tough for both teams."
