SuperSport United striker Bradley Grobler says breaking Matsatsanta's all-time scoring record was a great way to repay the club's faith in him.
Grobler surpassed the total of 57 held by the late Abram Raselemane when he scored his 58th goal in the 2-1 win over Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday.
The Bafana Bafana striker has also become the first player in the league to reach double figures this season with 10 goals to his name after 10 matches.
Grobler owes a lot of his success to the club's willingness to give him support over the years.
"It's an unbelievable feeling... the club has been good over the years, they have done a lot for me. They stuck with me through thick and thin, through injuries," said Grobler.
"It's a way of repaying the club for the faith they have shown in me. It's a good club, prestigious club, and I'm honoured to have achieved that."
Grobler will get a chance to increase his tally when SuperSport take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the Tshwane Derby in Pretoria on Saturday (15h00).
