The Serbian coach, who was appointed by the club last month, will make his PSL bow when Steve Komphela's Chiefs visit Free State Stadium.
With the addition of ex-Chiefs midfielder Lucky Baloyi and former Orlando Piartes striker Ndumiso Mabena, Celtic are hopeful they will avoid a repeat of last season when they narrowly avoided relegation.
Having watched Amakhosi's losing endeavour against SuperSport United in the MTN8 last week, Jelusic is confident his side know how to approach today's game.
"We are happy with our preparations and we believe that we'll perform well to achieve a good result," Jelusic tells KickOff.com.
"We watched their game [against SuperSport] together with my technical team and we analysed it - and we had an agreement about the common approach, about how to face Kaizer Chiefs.
"Of course we've got some new players in our team, and our team is well-balanced with players that played in the PSL.
"Of course we respect them as Kaizer Chiefs and we respect any of our opponents for that matter, but the players have said they are ready for this game."
Celtic have to contend with some absentees for the clash as Victor Letsoalo, signed from Baroka FC, will miss out due to suspension, while Mpho Maruping is out injured.
