Black Leopards have taken advantage of new PSL rule and added no less than 10 players to their squad ahead of the re-start of the 2019/20 season.
The Absa Premiership campaign is set to resume within the biologically safe environment, with clubs set to play fixtures every three-to-four days as the PSL looks to wrap proceedings up by the first week of September.
The League have thus made provision for clubs to bolster their squads by registering unattached and amateur players to help with the crammed fixture schedule.
KickOff.com can confirm that Lidoda Duhva has promoted a total of 10 players from their MultiChoice Diski challenge side as they battle for survival in their remaining six games.
Amongst these are young defensive duo Tsepo Matsimbi and Ntlakuso Rikhotso, who are expected to join the team this week as they look to check in to the bio-bubble on the weekend.
“The club has moved quickly to promote their MDC players. Tsepo Matsimbi has been training with them while Ntlakuso Rikhotso is expected to join this week,” a source tells this website.
Club general manager Tshifhiwe Thidiela has since confirmed the developments, though he did not name the players that have been promoted.
Leopards, who will be playing their ‘home’ games at FNB Stadium for the remainder of the season, are set to host Maritzburg United in their opening fixture next Sunday at 15h30.
The Limpopo outfit have a huge task ahead after having lost the services of head coach Alan Clark, who resigned last week to take up a new challenge in Europe.
