Black Leopards have confirmed a key development surrounding former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder ‘Dax’ Andriamirado Andrianarimanana.
Leopards are set to take the Madagascan international into the Gauteng bio-bubble this weekend as he looks to return following a four-month ban from FIFA.
Dax was banned in February over his transfer to Chiefs in 2018, which was disputed by his former club Fosa Juniors, who claimed he still had a running contract and thus demanded a fee for his services.
In June the midfielder's agent told this website that the player's four month ban had ended, and according the Lidoda Duvha general manager Chief Thidiela, FIFA has since issued a letter confirming the player’s eligibility to return to play.
Amakhosi were also banned from signing any new players in the next two transfer windows – a decision they have also since appealed.
“Ja, we are taking everyone. We even have ten players that were promoted from MDC, and we are also taking them with us,” Thidiela tells KickOff.com.
“There is a [letter from FIFA], they sent it to the PSL and SAFA, and we have a copy. As our player, we need to go and support him throughout.”
As for their preparations, the club are set to report for the ‘mini-bubble’ to conduct their final round of Covid-19 tests before proceeding to their designated hotel.
“We are just preparing, we are still pushing. I think we will be in Gauteng five days before the bubble. There's a mini-bubble before you go to the bubble,” he adds.
“Remember, we still have to do tests and then afterwards everyone must stay in camp – in one place. Then we get results and, once they are clear, everyone will then go into the bubble.”
