Leopards confirm keeper capture

As reported by KickOff.com, Black Leopards have confirmed the signing of Guinea-Bissau international goalkeeper Jonas Asvendo Mendes.

Mendes, who stands at 1.91m tall, was recently part of the Guinea Bissau squad that took part at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The 29-year-old comes as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Academico Viseu last month.

"Black Leopards FC welcome Jonas Asvendo Mendes. He comes with a lot of experience from Portugal and Guinea Bissau," read a club statement.

"The board and management trust that his arrival at Black Leopards will strengthen the defence of the team."

Leopards have shown ambition in this transfer window and signed experienced players like Thabo Matlaba, Thuso Phala, Mumuni Abubakar and Mogakolodi Ngele.
