KickOff.com has gathered information that Black Leopards are close to signing two players from the GladAfrica Championship.
The Limpopo side are looking to improve their midfield after fighting relegation last season.
According to an insider at the club, 27-year-old former Ajax Cape Town star Rodrick Kabwe has already signed for Leopards while negotiations with JDR Stars for South Africa-born Onyedikachi Ononogbu are believed to have gone well.
Zambian attacker Kabwe featured 24 times for The Urban Warriors in the last campaign and scored two goals, with 22-year-old Ononogbu managing 10 appearances for The Hammer Boys and also finding the back of the net twice.
"Ononogbu has not yet arrived but the way the management is talking, ja everything is right now for him to come. Kabwe, I heard he is already undergoing his tests," the source tells KickOff.com.
Ononogbu's agent Pontsho Madumo could not confirm anything, but did admit that there have been enquiries from Leopards.
"Who said he's going to Leopards? I will let you know if Ononogbu leaves, he is currently with JDR, fully training with JDR, still contracted to JDR," Maduma says.
"They enquired but nothing materialised. There's a lot of teams that have enquired like Chippa [United] but nothing materialised. He is still contracted to JDR.
"Both teams haven't agreed to anything. So we are still waiting for JDR to tell us if they've agreed on anything. But on the outside there's nothing."
The source also confirms that former Polokwane City midfielder Wiseman Maluleke completed his move to the club before the recently-completed bio-bubble.
Leopards general manager Tshifiwa 'Chief' Thidiela and JDR official Nditsheni Nemasisi could not be reached for comment.
