Bidvest Wits have set their sights on signing Mexican midfielder Diego Franco from University of Pretoria.
Franco joined AmaTuks together with his countryman Lugiani Gallardo at the beginning of the season. Both players were linked to Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns late last year.
Franco is said to have impressed the Pirates technical team after a friendly game against AmaTuks played in Tshwane last year.
According to sources close to Wits, the club is looking forward to boost their attacking department and Franco has been identified as their prime target for the next transfer window.
"Wits have come to watch the player several times and they have been impressed," the source tells KickOff.com.
"He is on top of the list of players discussed with the possibility to sign next season."
Wits are set to lose the services of goalkeeper Darren Keet after he declined the club's new offer.
