McCarthy looking for new targetman

Premiership

AmaZulu's recent results have forced head coach Benni McCarthy to look for new players as the team keeps struggling to get three points.

Usuthu have gone four games without a win having drawn three and lost one in encounters they could have easily won had they concerted several chances.

A frustrated McCarthy, speaking after another draw against SuperSport United in midweek, hinted that he will have a meeting with club chairman Sandile Zungu about acquiring a targetman as he is running out of patience.

"With the transfer window open I hope the president can see that there's a necessity to add new players," McCarthy said.

"The squad is good but there's a piece of the puzzle that is missing and hopefully we can go into the market to get someone who wants to take leadership in this team and go win games for us.

"As coaches we must work with frustrations, and that's how it is.

Usuthu have already released Somila Ntsundwana to Richards Bay on loan and this website understands that Sibusiso Magaqa, Ntuthuko Madela and Andre De Jong are also set to be released.
