The 30-year-old ex-Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns left-back sustained the knock in a friendly during the FIFA break.
"Punch got a knock on Friday which means he is out now [for Tuesday’s match]," Bakgaga coach Kgoloko Thobejane tells KickOff.com.
"It’s a groin injury. He was trying to make a cross. It happens in football, that's why you must have enough man power in case you come across such things. We have players who can replace him.”
Otherwise, Thobejane says the international recess has benefitted his outfit.
"We've been busy with lot of things, especially converting chances, The break also helped us a lot with injuries. Our captain Olaleng Shaku managed to recover, while Matome Kgoetyane has also recovered."
Thobejane is also satisfied with the team's fitness as they have remained active.
"We played a four-team tournament during the break with Polokwane City, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and [Black] Leopards. First game we lost to Leopards on penalties. In the second game Tshakuma beat Polokwane 1-0. Leopards won the final by beating Tshakuma 2-0."
Thobejane's side are 11th on the topflight standings with two points from as many matches.
