Baroka FC chairman Kurishi Mphahlele has given more clarity on the future of Prince Nxumalo.
The former Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits striker has not been getting minutes at the club and there have been talks that he may be released at the end of the season.
Mphahlele recently revealed to this website that he has already made preparations for the 2020/21 season, saying there are ongoing discussions about players whose contracts are coming to an end in June.
"We are still assessing all the players whose contracts are coming to an end," Mphahlele tells KickOff.com.
"Prince Nxumalo is one of them and we haven't made any final decision on some of the players. It's a 50/50 situation."
With Bakgaga still in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals, players like Nxumalo could be given an opportunity to prove they are still worthy of contract extensions.
"Every player must be given a fair chance to prove himself and Nxumalo is one of those," the club chairman explains.
"Unfortunately he hasn't been getting chances. We just hope football will resume so he and others can be looked at."
