Baroka FC have made a decision on the future of experienced defender Thabiso Semenya.
The former Polokwane City and Platinum Stars player joined during the first half of the past season as a free agent, signing a deal until the end of the season. The he signed had an option to renew for a year, but Bakgaga have decided against exercising it.
Speaking to KickOff.com, the 36-year-old Semenya admitted that he is disappointed that Baroka have decided against holding onto him, but he is hopeful of finding a club
“They are not renewing my contract, they called me last night.”
Semenya played 21 matches in all competitions and help the club to Telkom Knockout success in the first half of the season. Despite being one of the side’s key players, they decided against keeping him.
“Nothing surprises me anymore in football. I’ve been in this game for a long time. I’m kind of disappointed, but it’s their decision.”
Baroka have parted ways with the likes of Letladi Madubanya, Abdi Banda, while Thandani Ntshumayelo’s future is up in the air.
