AmaZulu have moved to diffuse any potential instability in their camp after reports emerged the club has suspended five players.
Action was reportedly taken following their embarrassing 4-1 defeat at the hands of Bloemfontein Celtic at Dr Molemela Stadium on Saturday.
Usuthu have been blowing hot and cold this season and are facing the axe in the Absa Premiership relegation zone in addition to their early Nedbank Cup exit.
Five players are believed to have been demoted to train with the reserve team due to allegations of underperformance.

AmaZulu spokesman Brilliant Makhathini says all is well in the team and management is making drastic measures to make sure the KwaZulu-Natal side remains committed to the cause.
The club has now enlisted the services of a psychologist to help prepare the players mentally for matches.
"The club's priority is to remain in the PSL. Since last month we have been involving motivational interactions with players and the likes of Clive Barker and sports psychologist Martin Scheepers," Makhathini tells KickOff.com.
"With regards to playing personnel as well as the technical team and management, we are working together to ensure players remain committed and are accountable to the cause.
"Considering results, the club is not interested in a conventional way of just singling out certain groups or individuals concerning results. The players mentioned are not released."
Only Polokwane City are worse off than 15th-placed AmaZulu in the survival battle, sitting three points below Usuthu.
