KickOff.com understands visa complications during the Covid-19 pandemic halted their returns to pre-season while the club has since confirmed McCarthy took the squad for training this weekend.

"Usuthu would like to clarify any fake news regarding Coach Benni McCarthy and Andre De Jong. Coach Benni McCarthy has returned to South Africa from his off-season break in Scotland," the statement read on social media.

"We would like to confirm that Sphesihle Maduna, has not been offloaded and is still part of the Usuthu family."

McCarthy and his troops are preparing to announce 10 new signings ahead of the 2021/22 campaign as they look to build on their runners-up finish in his debut season at the club.
