AmaZulu have offered a new explanation for the apparent suspensions handed down to five or their senior players.
Usuthu have reportedly sent Lehlohonolo Majoro, Michael Morton, Nhlanhla Vilakazi, Thembela Sikhakhane and Jabulani Ncobeni to train with the MultiChoice Diski Challenge team due to ill-discipline.
However, the players' demotion has been officially described as a "special training programme" by general manager Lunga Sokhela.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu legend Ayanda Dlamini is having sleepless nights about the current state of the club in the Absa Premiership.
Usuthu are sitting in 15th position on the log and are in danger of being relegated to the GladAfrica Championship if things don't change come May.
Dlamini, who is coach of the MDC team, feels if Usuthu are relegated the talented young team they have will suffer.
"We are hoping and praying that we survive relegation so we can see more young players in the first team," Dlamini tells KickOff.com.
"If the team don't survive, our hard work with the MDC team won't do anything. These players will suffer because their careers depend on the progress of our senior team."
Usuthu have pushed through several young players from their development, the likes of Sbongakonke Ndlovu, Neil Boshoff, Olwethu Mzimela, Sbusiso Maduna, Sandile Gaxa and others who have been promoted by head coach Josef Vukuzic.
