AmaZulu FC have completed the signing of former Orlando Pirates midfielder Xola Mlambo.

Mlambo is expected to be unveiled as a new signing at an 'urgent' press conference called for this afternoon.

The ex-Bidvest Wits playmaker was released from Pirates' congested midfield ahead of the start of the 2020/21 season, with the Buccaneers having since brought in his former teammate Thabang Monare.

The 29-year-old had also attracted the interest of TS Galaxy owner Tim Sukazi but has now put pen to paper at Usuthu, KickOff.com can confirm.

New AmaZulu owner Sandile Zungu is on a huge mission this season to turn the club from serial relegation candidates to top-four contenders.

There have also been reports regarding potential moves for Reyaad Pieterse and Lesedi Kapinga, who will find it difficult to break through at Chloorkop this season.

Thabo Rakhale is also understood to have been in KwaZulu-Natal in recent weeks, with his agent telling this website last week that he is close to securing a new deal.
