AmaZulu break silence on Ntuli's future

AmaZulu have finally broken their silence on the future of top striker Bongi Ntuli, who continues to miss out since his transfer request.

Ntuli had a season to remember in the last campaign scoring 12 times in 24 league appearances but has found it difficult to repeat the form that saw him being linked with a move away from the club in 2020 due to injury setbacks.

The 29-year-old has netted only twice and played five times for Usuthu so far, fuelling speculation that he is looking to move to Johannesburg next season to join one of the big three.

With his current contract at Usuthu still left with one season, the player has not withdrawn his transfer request that was handed in before the new owner Sandile Zungu took over from the Sokhela family.

"I have no information about that," Usuthu communications relations officer Phumlani Dube tells

"What I can confirm is that Ntuli is still contracted to AmaZulu, and I believe he's still got one more year at AmaZulu.

"And any news regarding transfer or possible transfer, I cannot confirm that, I have no information about that. No offers at this stage, no. Nothing. There's really no news around that so far.

"He was just not playing in the past couple of weeks because he was injured. But he is now back, fit and ready to play. He may start playing again anytime from now."
