Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly have been handed an enormous boost ahead of this weekend's CAF Champions League clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The reigning African champions are set to play host to South Africa's title-bearers on Saturday when the two sides meet in Group A of the Champions League.
Ahead of the clash, the Egyptian giants have been handed a major boost after star goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy was declared fit following a spell on the sidelines.
"Mohamed El Shenawy, Al Ahly's football first-team goalkeeper, took part in Monday's training session at El Tetsh Stadium after recovering from his injury," the club said in a statement.
"Our goalkeeper completed his recovery program and is now fit to participate in the team’s upcoming matches."
El Shenawy suffered a hamstring injury during Egypt's CAF Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 win over Ivory Coast and missed the club's goalless draw against Sudan's Al Hilal last weekend.
The Red Devils could, however, be without the services of defender Ayman Ashraf, who suffered a "minor knee injury" in training on Monday, while the game could also come too soon for Percy Tau.
The Bafana Bafana star has been sidelined since sustaining a muscle injury on 30 January 2022 and was not included in the squad for the mid-week match league match against Misr Lel Makkasa.
Saturday's match is set to take place at the Cairo International Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 South African time.
