Rodgers returns to the Mother City

Ajax Cape Town is looking at the possibility of bringing in a striker who recently parted ways with relegated Free State Stars.

Eleazar Rodgers is one of the money players Ea Lla Koto parted ways with after they were relegated from the Absa Premiership and he is now training with National First Division side Ajax, who believe the former Mamelodi Sundowns forward can help guide the youngsters and play a leadership role in the dressing room in the upcoming season.

Our website has established that the lanky former Bidvest Wits attacker has been training with Ajax since Monday after being summoned by the club’s Head of Football and former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Hans Vonk.

Rodgers is also no stranger to Ikamva as he was on loan at Ajax back during2012/13 season Where he scored five goals in 23 appearances for the coastal side.

“Look, it’s always good to be back in ones hometown,” Rodgers tells KickOff.com.

“I’m here because I was contacted and told that I could possibly assist with the youngster by guiding them and this season.”
