"The best player" at one of the mid-table PSL teams is believed to be on the radar of Kaizer Chiefs as Joseph Molangoane's replacement.
According to those who are close to the skilful Lefa Hlongwane, the Black Leopards forward is viewed by Amakhosi as a perfect replacement for the out-of-favour Molangoane as he can easily play as a right or left-winger.
Molangoane's future at Naturena is so bleak that there is even a belief that Chiefs are considering releasing him as early as January.
The 26-year-old has recently been at loggerheads with Leopards coach Luc Eymael over his lack of game-time, but his agent Bevan Dicks says Chiefs know what to do if they are interested in his client.
"The boy is contracted to Black Leopards. If there's interest in Lefa I'm sure Kaizer Chiefs will contact Mr [David] Thidiela. We've got to respect the boy's contract," Dicks tells KickOff.com.
"Kaizer Chiefs is a big club and a big brand. So I'm sure if something comes through the boy will grab the opportunity with both hands. But again, we must respect his contract at Black Leopards and take it as it comes."
Dicks was asked about the recent fallout between the player and Lidoda Duvha's Belgian coach Eymael.
"Lefa is my client and I also speak to Eymael on a regular basis, and I've got a good relationship with him. Lefa just needs to keep working hard and a coach can never leave his best player on the bench!"
