After a lot of speculation about his immediate future, Ethiopian international Abubeker Nassir could sign with South African giants, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Kickoff.com understands that Nassir has arrived in the country with the intention to put pen to paper with Sundowns.
According to sources close to the Brazilians, the Ethiopian wonder-kid arrived in the country via OR Tambo Airport last night and quickly sneaked into a hotel around Johannesburg.
Nassir was due to report for training at Chloorkop today.
"The Ethiopian player, Nassir is here in South Africa. He arrived in the country last night,” said the source.
"He was set to start training with Mamelodi Sundowns today,” he added.
Abubeker Nassir has been linked to a number of clubs in South Africa including Kaizer Chiefs, Supersport United and Baroka FC.
The 21-year-old attacker scored 23 goals in 29 games in the Ethiopian League before walking away with the Player of the Season award last year.
Sundowns are also expected to complete the signing of Edwin Saavedra and Teboho Mokoena.
