Six sharp shooters after opening rounds

While only one full round of Absa Premiership fixtures has been played thus far, one statistic has revealed some surprising candidates amongst the top contributors.

When looking at performances, certain visible elements are used to measure how effective a player is – for attackers this is most commonly the amount of goals or assists they tally up.

However, conversion rate is also a solid statistic to take into account when looking at who is the most accurate when it comes to being in front of goals.

Though some would have played more minutes than others, for clarity, conversions are the number of goals scored per shot taken, which can vary according to how many minutes played but ultimately it is the number of attempts used to the desired effect that stands out.

Six players have thus far maintained a 100 percent conversion rate in the early stages of the Absa Premiership, with Orlando Pirates boasting two, while Mamelodi Sundowns, Cape Town City, Golden Arrows and Maritzburg United all registering one player in the rankings.
