Dikwena were quick off the mark as Bonginkosi Ntuli pressed forward from a pass but his efforts were well thwarted by Darren Keet.
With the game off to a slow start, the opening 15 minutes provided little in the way of goalmouth action.
Nonetheless, the hosts went ahead following a well-executed strike from on-loan forward Ntuli on 18 minutes.
A great ball from Vincent Pule to Lehlohonolo Majoro was headed over the top by the former Orlando Pirates man as they looked for an immediate response.
Another incoming set-piece delivery fell to Majoro, who continued floundering in front of goal, sending his attempt wide on 39 minutes.
The Braamfontein side, chasing down a top-eight spot, were forced into a change at the stroke of half-time, with Pule limping off and replaced by veteran Elias Pelembe.
At the start of the second half, another change followed with Ben Motshwari going off for Gabadinho Mhango.
The game went to a lull for the remaining half, with few chances in front of either goal, leaving Dikwena to sign off their top-flight journey with victory, while also denying Wits a place in next season's MTN8.
