Golden Arrows needed a last minute strike to seal a 2-1 win over Chippa United in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
Nkosinathi Sibiya, Danny Phiri, Nduduzo Sibiya and Knox Mutizwa were the four changes for Arrows following their 5-0 loss to Bloemfontein Celtic two weeks ago.
After a very quiet opening to the half, Abafana Besthende broke the deadlock on 32 minutes when Sibiya played a one-two to finish from a tight angle inside the area.
The Chilli Boys pushed for an equaliser in the latter stage of the first half , with efforts from Kurt Lentjies amongst others, however Arrows shot-stopper Edmore Sibanda saved easily.
Arrows finished the half the strongest as an exchange of passes inside the area nearly led to a second, but Mutizwa failed to strike gold as Steve Komphela's men went into the break leading by the lone goal.
As a result, Chippa instituted a double change at the break, as Thabo Rakhale and William Twala came on for Andile Mbenyane and Meshack Maphangule respectively.
The hosts eventually pulled on their first change after 60 minutes with Danny Venter replacing Michael Gumede.
Chippa looked troubling on the break and nearly profited nine minutes later, but Lentjies saw his attempt deflected to safety.
The Chilli Boys received a breakthrough in the last nine minutes when Siyabonga Dube’s handball led to a penalty, which Boikanyo Komane converted with aplomb to restore parity.
However, Abafana Besthende snatched the winner at the death when Mutizwa peeled off a rebound from the post to find the bottom corner, moments after missing a sitter.
