Arrows see off relegated Dikwena

Dikwena made the brightest start, pushing for an early lead but were unable to bridge Arrows, who saw their shots going astray.

The home side dusted themselves off and a shot from Danny Venter was deflected away for a corner by the Stars defence on seven minutes.

Namibian Wangu Gome managed to whip in behind the opposition defence before unleashing a shot that came off the outside of the post on 13 minutes.

Solid play from the middle gave Abafana Bes'thende the opportunity to respond and they obliged when Venter played in Knox Mutizwa who produced a good diving save from Mbongeni Mzimela.

The Zimbabwean made amends heading home from close range following a quick throw-in which preceded a cross into the middle on 18 minutes.

On the half and hour mark, Venter doubled their lead after capitalising on poor defending to blast home with good pressure from them playing its part as well.

With the half drawing to a close, both sides incredibly struck the post. Stars were the first, whilst Velemseni Ndwandwe dived to take a shot following a ball from Siphelele Magubane.

Following a persistence pressure from the restart, Dikwena eventually pulled one back on 58 minutes through Enocent Mkhabela.

But the tie was settled once and for all by Arrows, who ended Dikwena’s chance of a come back when Mutizwa completed his brace with 10 minutes to go.

Stars pulled one back following a goal-mouth inside the box, allowing Gift Sithole to poke home in added time to end off proceedings.
