A strong start ensued from City, but Matthew Rusike and Craig Martin failed to ignite their early momentum to something tangible.
Surprise Ralani managed to get behind the Arrows defence following a through ball from the middle by Thamsanqa Mkhize which led to a cross for Ayanda Patosi who in the end failed to convert.
A corner by Patosi from out wide found Kouassi Kouadja but the new signing sent his effort over the top, before Mkhize’s cross found Rusike who rose high only to head tamely at Nkosingiphile Gumede on 28 minutes.
Two minutes thereafter, Mkhize found time and space to release Patosi on the edge of the box but the latter’s strike rose over the top to end the first half.
Great work on the ball by Ralani inadvertently led to another chance for City, but the Arrows defence raced down in time to make the clearance on 53 minutes.
The Citizens made its first change, as Benni McCarthy seek inspiration from his bench to break the duck. Riyaad Norodien made its entry for Ralani.
With limited amount of chances coming forth despite the introductions from the respective benches, both sides walked away with a point apiece.
