Baroka drop points on home soil

Baroka FC and ten-man Bloemfontein Celtic could not be separated as they played to a goalless draw in the Absa Premiership at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Siwelele welcomed back defender Tshepo Rikhotso and Lentsane Phalane to the line-up, while South Africa junior international goalkeeper Mondli Mpoto replaced the injured  Sipho Chaine.

Phalane came the the closest to giving the game a spark and almost broke the deadlock for Siwelele in the 20th minute, with a long range strike that forced Baroka shot-stopper Elvis Chipezeze into a full-stretch save.

Siwelele were growing in the game as Ronald Pfumbidzai went close with a chance of his own in the last eight minutes of the second stanza, with a cracking strike from range that was parried over the bar by Chipezeze.

The game was there for the taking in the opening exchanges of the first stanza. Terrence Tisdell almost found the breakthrough for Bakgaga ten minutes inside the second stanza with a cross-cum-shot that sailed onto the roof of the net,

Phunya Sele Sele were reduced to ten men in the 64th minute after Phalane received his second yellow card of the game for appearing to stamp on the leg of Baroka forward Richard Mbulu. Lehlohonolo Seema reacted by making a change with six minutes later, as he brought on Lesotho international striker Sera Matebang in place of Ndumiso Mabena.
