PSL confirm 8 to miss weekend games

The Premier Soccer League have issued official communication of eight players who will not be allowed to play in this weekend's DStv Premiership fixtures.

A full roster of league matches are scheduled for this weekend as the final stretch of the Premiership stars to heat up at both ends of the log table.

League leaders Mamelodi Sundowns will face ailing Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs in the pick of the weekends' fixtures on Sunday afternoon (15h00), while Orlando Pirates will also visit high-flying Swallows FC for a Soweto Derby on Saturday (17h00).

However, Sundowns and Chiefs stars have escaped suspensions following their mid-week games, while Pirates will be without the services of midfielder Kabelo Dlamini, who serves a one-match ban.

Elsewhere, third-placed AmaZulu will miss defender Thapelo Xoki when they welcome ninth-placed TS Galaxy (17h00 kick-off), with the visitors set to travel without midfielder Bathusi Aubaas.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, meanwhile, will also have to replace Edgar Manaka when they visit Cape Town Stadium to face Cape Town City on Saturday evening (17h00 kick-off).

Chippa United will entertain Golden Arrows in Gqeberha on Sunday (15h00) but winger Athini Jodwana as well as Divine Lunga, Nkosinathi Sibisi and Ntsako Makhubela will not be able to feature for their respective sides.
