Downs set for big decisions on 7 players

Reigning Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns have some huge decisions to make on the futures of at least seven of their first-team players.

Sundowns are known to enjoy a wealth of options when it comes to their squad, but this is largely due to their often exhaustive fixture schedule that sees them travelling the length and breadth of the continent.

It is for this reason too that the club has signed a reported total of six new players for next season, as they look to secure a third straight league title and qualification for the CAF Champions League for 2020/21 campaign.

However, with the fresh injection of quality reinforcements, naturally the club will have to look at the futures of several players.

Former Orlando Pirates captain Oupa Manyisa was set to see his initial-term contract end on June 30, with Sundowns having an option to extend, though nothing official has been communicated by the club as yet.

Similarly, Ivorian defender Bangaly Soumahoro and Liberian forward Anthony Laffor are also understood to have had deals until the end of last month, with no word on whether they will remain beyond the current season.

As for players such as Aubrey Ngoma, Reyaad Pieterse, Lucky Mohomi and young Katlego Otladisa, their lack of game-time in recent times raises big question marks about whether they would be better off on loan deals away from Chloorkop for next season, or possibly even sold.
