Mahlangu, who is well travelled in Europe without having kicked a ball in the Premier Soccer League, has now taken his journey to a rather obscure part of the continent.
The 29-year-old, who has been capped 19 times at senior international level, made the switch from Bulgarian Parva Liga outfit Ludogurets, with whom he featured in this season's Europa League group stages.
With Kazakhstan's season running from March to December, the Stars of Africa youth graduate opted for a loan switch until the end of the year as he looks to enjoy more game-time.
Mahlangu has already played in Sweden, Turkey, Belgium and Bulgaria, and will now be plying his trade in a fifth different country across Europe.
He last featured for Bafana during the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign in 2016, prior to the sacking of former coach Shakes Mashaba.
